Masterwork

A short, stiff dagger for the gaps in a fallen man’s armour.

Price crude 1 silver 5 copper, poor 5 silver, common 10 silver, fine 30 silver, masterwork 1 gold
Damage 0.55
Reach 0.9 m less than a sword
Wind-up 0.2 s quicker

Its cuts are weak, 0.6 of a blow. Into a man who is down it strikes the gaps: half again as hard, with armour stopping only a third of what it would. A crude weapon hits 0.6 times as hard as a common one, a poor one 0.75, a fine one 1.25 and a masterwork 1.4.

A common piece takes 0.6 kg of iron. A crude one takes 0.6 of that, a poor one three quarters, a fine one half again and a masterwork twice. Traders buy what they lack from the town’s market, so a town with no iron soon has none to sell.
