A man looses only what his quiver holds, and only from one that fits his bow. Out of a fight it fills again from the arrows in the train, which the weaponsmith sells at 6 copper each. An army on the payroll at a town of its own keeps one refill for every case. Half of what is loosed lies on the field to be gathered, and a third of that is lost each day. On the map an archer’s cases empty in five minutes of fighting, and an archer with none left strikes at about a third of his strength.

A common piece takes 1 kg of leather. A crude one takes 0.6 of that, a poor one three quarters, a fine one half again and a masterwork twice. Traders buy what they lack from the town’s market.
